Part of our partnership with Vogue Italia, Alessio Boschi’s The Melting Arctic Ring was created to raise awareness around global warming and the effect it has on all beings, showcasing its effect on the polar bear population in particular.
This one-of-a-kind ring features a white gold band accented by handcrafted white gold pieces in the shape of icicles and snowflakes, which are finished with white diamonds and paraibas.
Cabochon moonstones complete the band, evoking the image of water droplets on its surface. The dome of the ring is a white topaz that has been carved by hand into the shape of an iceberg.
A secret cabochon moonstone activates the opening of the iceberg, which reveals a scene inside of a polar bear family carved from tagua seed sitting atop melting icebergs, separating the mother polar bear from her children. The polar bears sit atop a pool of water created by layering lapis lazuli and druzy.
The underside of the ring features a design that looks like ice cracking, to mimic the separation and melting of the icebergs due to global warming.
The ring has been crafted to fit sizes 6.5-7.5
10% of all proceeds go to Space for Giants.
